A photo of mine is in today's edition of the Die Tageszeitung (die taz) as part of a photo feature called, "Nan Goldins Kinder". The spread highlighs examples from the next generation of photographers who are working in the same tradition as Nan Goldin.

The photo that die taz selected is special - it's one of the few shots of me as my alter ego, Ray Camaro. And lucky me, I am getting a kiss from Toni Transit in the Möbel-Olfe!

Other photographers featured in the article include: Anja Weber (Germany), Antoine D'Agata (France), Christa Holka (UK/US), Finn Ballard (Germany/N Ireland) and Iwajla Klinke (Germany)

Schwules Museum Berlin - Photos in Permanent Exhibition

Great news! The Schwules Museum in Berlin has broadened it's horizons. In the future, it will document not only gay male history, but also the "history and (sub)culture of the lesbian and queer movement". As a result of this expanded vision, my photos of performers from the drag scene have been added to the permanent exhibition!

As part of the opening festivities, Domino und Régine will sing live. Domino has graced the stage as a male impersonator since the 1960's, performing in Travesty Shows at Berlin locations such as Chez Nous and Troika.

Wow!

"Dragkings" Photo Exhibit by Mareike Günsche

A portrait of me as Ray Camaro is being shown as part of Mareike Günsche's "Dragkings" photo exhibit at Tante Horst.

"For one and a half years, Mareike Günsche found drag kings all over Germany and portrayed them within their own four walls. Her medium format photographs create moments of confusion and make viewers see gender identity in a new and different light."

Mareike Günsche's work can also be seen in the newly released book "Drag Kings: Mit Bartkleber gegen das Patriarchat".
